Alexander Volkanovski will fight to become a 2-weight world champion on home soil on February 11 when he takes on Islam Makhachev for the UFC lightweight title.

Volkanovski has reigned supreme in the featherweight division since he first claimed the belt in 2019, successfully defending it on 4 occasions. Now, he'll step up to face Makhachev, who claimed the vacant lightweight strap in October 2022 with a submission victory over Charles Oliveira.

With the Australian rising to another weight class, Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett will face off for the interim featherweight belt in Volkanovski's absence, so there's an enormous amount at stake at UFC 284!
