Pacific Northwest Krav Maga Code of Conduct

Introduction

The Pacific Northwest Krav Maga Code of Conduct embodies our commitment to fostering a strong, safe community. It reflects our values of discipline, respect, and dedication, ensuring that everyone who trains with us adheres to the highest standards of conduct.

Who Must Follow the Code of Conduct?

This Code applies to everyone in our community—members, staff, instructors, consultants, and contractors. Failure to adhere to this Code can result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from our community or termination of employment/contract.

Code of Conduct Principles

1. Safety First

  • Respect the Training Environment: All training must stop when the instructor calls TIME. This ensures safety for all participants.

  • Arrive Prepared: Ensure you are on time and have the required gear: water, mouthguard, groin protector, gloves, shin guards, etc.

  • Remove Hazards: Take off jewelry, watches, and other items that could harm you or others.

  • No Weapons: Live weapons are strictly prohibited on the mats.

  • Respect Instruction: Do not talk over the instructor or use your phone during class. Photography or video is only allowed with permission.

  • Alcohol and Drugs: The use of alcohol or illegal drugs is strictly prohibited before training. Offenders will face removal from training.

2. Respect for Others

  • No Bullying or Harassment: We do not tolerate violence, bullying, or harassment inside or outside the dojo. Students who have a history of violence, including domestic violence, will not be allowed to train with us.

  • Non-Discrimination Policy: We are committed to providing an inclusive environment free of harassment, intimidation, and discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age, or any other protected characteristic.

3. Upholding Community Standards

  • Supportive Environment: We foster a culture where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Disrespectful behavior, such as gossip or spreading lies, is strictly prohibited.

  • Retaliation-Free: Retaliation against anyone who reports a violation of this Code or participates in an investigation is strictly prohibited.

  • Fair Employment: All employment decisions are based on individual merit, free from unlawful discrimination or harassment.

How to Report a Violation

If you believe there has been a violation of the Pacific Northwest Krav Maga Code of Conduct, please report it directly to a manager or through email or mail. Reports will be thoroughly investigated, and disciplinary action will be taken where necessary.
